There are few greater luxuries in life for me than to stay at the home of a friend or family member who has a considerately prearranged guest bedroom. It is like having the extravagance of a good bed and breakfast with the other personal amenities of a decent hotel.
There is something distinct about creating an alluring living space for your guests. I always like the idea of designing a room in your home with all the finest comforts to make a soothing setting, sending out the invites, and eventually enjoying the company of your friends and family.
The single idea shows how much you care for your guests and your guests will acknowledge the deliberation that went into their sojourn. At the end of the day, it is all about guest experience.

Whether you are planning to prepare your home for the demanding summer season ahead or trying to make an impression on your guests; it is always a good idea to ensure your space is guest-ready!
Here are eight ideas on how to wow your guests with a little extra preparation; this peak season and make their visits more fun.
Set An Easy-Going Ambiance
Now, by all means, you should prepare for your guests’ arrival but make sure to keep things at ease. Keep the arrangement simple. It is all about making visiting friends and family feel at home. Maintaining the customary state of things around the home will make the stay in a new place easier. For instance, flip flops stacked by the door or newspapers already placed on the coffee table will set the stage for relaxation and help make visiting guests comfortable.
Fresh Flowers
Nothing can be a better way to offer comfy and relaxed vibes to your guests than welcoming them with fresh flowers. A few cutout buds from your garden or the local market arranged neatly in a vase can make all the difference. Just make sure not to pick flowers with intense aromas as few people are allergic to overpowering scents and it can further lead to common health issues such as sneezing or headaches. In such cases, a nice, antiallergenic green plant can be a good choice.
A Collection Of Books
Digging through someone’s book assortment is one of my favorite activities when visiting someone else’s home. People usually like to explore literature that appeals to all tastes such as bestsellers, fiction, nonfiction, mystery, and more. Whether you have a full-fledged book cabinet or a simple wall shelving; stock it with interesting reading material and create a cozy nook for your guests to read and lounge around.

Furnish with Care
Refurnishing your guest room from time to time is always a good idea. A statement bed, a large dresser, bedside tables, and lamps are the non-negotiable guest room provisions. Also, make sure there is a mirror in the guest bedroom. Offer a well-designed closet with plenty of hangers or a folding luggage stand. Aesthetically designed mounted hooks and wall racks not only serve as a spot to keep stuff but also look visually appealing.
A Multipurpose Nightstand
One of the best ways to make your guests feel comfortable is to offer them a proper place to store their stuff. Provide them with a well-equipped nightstand or empty a drawer where your guests can hoard keys, watches, and maybe even jewelry. You can also add a personal touch by keeping your favorite book or storing your favorite snack for those midnight cravings.
Extra Blankets and Pillows
Everyone’s requirements and sleeping choices are diverse. To cater to the needs of your guest make sure to invest in a couple of decent blankets and the best affordable bed linens with extra pillows.
A Coffee/Tea Bar
A bar cart is an integral part of any well-planned guest room. It makes a great mini morning kitchen for your guests which they can use without having to go downstairs. A coffee maker or electric kettle, a few mugs, spoons and napkins, variation of teas, are essentials for a bar cart. You can also store other items such as nonperishable creamers, sweeteners, fresh fruits, breakfast cereals, etc. in covered jars or bowls handy.
The Best Basics
While no one assumes your house to be a five-star hotel, providing elementary comforts like a basket of toiletries and niceties which may contain a mini toothpaste, wipes, a fresh bar of soap, shampoo, conditioner, sunscreen, extra toilet paper validates your considerate regard for others. Also, make sure the room has Wi-Fi, you can keep the Wi-Fi password in a charming note on the bedside table so your guests don’t have to ask.
